  • How does solar panels produce electricity?

We have been hearing that solar energy is the future of clean and safe electricity. But, how many of us actually know that how do solar panels work to produce electricity. It's Photovoltaic panels that take sun rays and convert it into electricity, You can see here for the detailed description.
Solar electricity, a renewable source of energy that has been with use since the dawn of life. In result, today more and more people are switching to solar power in a hope to save their cost and environment as well. Although, mankind has produced several ways of electricity i.e. Natural and mechanical.  Example Coal, Wind, …

Mostly the solar panels are placed on the roof. Solar panels transform incoming sunlight into electricity rather than heat. It's photovoltaic means Electricity from light-photo = electricity and voltaic = electricity. As we know that the photons of the sunlight beat down upon these cells, they knock the electrons off the silicon and negatively-charged free electrons are preferentially attracted to one side of the silicon cell, which creates an electric voltage that can be collected and channeled. This current gathered by solar panels and is known as solar electricity.

Solar power is arguably the cleanest, most reliable form of renewable energy available, and it can be used in several forms to help power your home or business. Solar-powered photovoltaic (PV) panels convert the sun's rays into electricity by exciting electrons in silicon cells using the photons of light from the sun.
